Hayford Park is the city’s largest park when it comes to amenities. Located on 13th Street, it is the location of the Beth Pancoe Aquatic Center, Mansfield Stadium, Sawyer (ice) Arena, basketball courts, tennis courts, a volleyball court, and of course, a playground.

Pool fees are minimal — in 2005, $2 a day for resident adults, $1 for resident kids, double that for non-residents 2005 Season Passes to the pool were $20 for an adult, $10 for a kid, and $50 for a family. (Passes must be picked up at the Bangor Parks&Rec building on Main Street.) The pool has two waterslides, a general deep-water swimming area, and a toddler zero-entry area (meaning you just walk in, no stairs, just a gentle grade). They offer swimming lessons and adult lap swim times as well.

Mansfield Stadium hosts all kinds of baseball & softball games, for varying fees. The playground and other courts are free to use. The ice cream truck is a frequent visitor in summer.

Hayford Park is on the west side, on 13th street.
