I think just about everybody with a kid has heard about, and even visited, Treworgy Orchards in Levant. Did you know they have a website, too?

The Apple Orchards, Dairy Bar, Petting Zoo and Corn Maze are NOW OPEN!
We are open Tuesday through Friday, 11AM to dusk. Saturday and Sunday 10AM to dusk. Closed Mondays
.

On weekends, follow the signs to the Pember Road entrance, and enjoy a free tractor-pulled hayride! It’s great to support local agriculture, and great to see so many folks supporting this jewel of a farm.

There are a few changes ’round here, most notably the blog is at the front of the site now, but I’ve added pages for the most searched information — those are in the tabs above. Click on BangorY and find out what’s going on for babies & kids at the Y. Click on Calendar to see the event calendar, listing storytimes, support groups, and special events. Playgrounds introduces the playground repository, housed on flickr. Coming soon, Maine Discovery Museum information. As always, let us know if there’s something you’d like to share, or something you’d like to see!

From Evelyn Conrad, of Your Birth Connection:

UPCOMING DOULA TRAINING: I am considering doing a DONA Approved Birth Doula Training over the course of 9 weeks on Wednesday Evenings from 5:30-9:00 p.m. in Brewer. Dates would be May 30, 2007 to July 25, 2007. This would be the same training given over a three day weekend, but broken up so that people have more time to digest the info. Cost would be $350.00. I wonder if there is any interest in this? Please let me know if this is something that would work better for you now or in the future. FMI contact Evelyn Conrad ybcdoula@adelphia.net or 945-9804

Happy Spring! I’ve spent naptimes this weekend doing some upgrading around here. First, the blog has a new, springier feel, don’t you think? I’ve also tweaked with the code in the forums to prevent spambots from registering and posting. New forum members will register, receive an email (instantly) and click on that before posting. We hate spam, here!

The new project is to document the playgrounds in Bangor. To this end, I’ve created a flickr account, at http://flickr.com/photos/bangorbaby/ that I plan to use to add photos of the city’s parks and playgrounds. If you’d like to contribute, and are a flickr user, tagging your photos with “bangorbaby” will get them into the stream!

The other cool thing that I’m doing with flickr, is generating a map that links with the photos. Check it out at http://flickr.com/photos/bangorbaby/map and use it to plan your next outing!

As always, let me know if there’s something I’ve overlooked, or if info needs to change. I do my best, but nobody’s perfect!
